This week I have done far too much ... when I'm always telling people to pace themselves! Guess I get my just deserts Sad

Sometimes you have to go with the flow ... it isn't easy re-arranging Orthopaedic appointments just because your joints don't want you to walk half a mile across the hospital and all because there's no b****y disabled spots left any nearer! You can't tell the university your son wants to go to that your joints aren’t up to the trip for Open Day. Yes please, if you could just let the other couple of hundred people know it would be better next week when I have less in the diary! I went to Bolton … I did actually take it easy! Had a lovely lunch with Jean and Jo. Went to the Bolton NRAS meeting; it was great. I came back from Bolton and walked, what seemed like miles, to my daughter’s parked car in Horwich. We found ourselves on the same train as she returned from university in Salford. Well it wouldn’t have been polite to refuse a cuppa and a biscuit, after all, it’s been a few weeks since we last saw each other. So, a detour via Abby’s Chorley flat was called for. Consequently I arrived home rather later than I had intended. Weary!

So now I sit, in pain, with a badly swollen knee, much aching, totally whacked! This is not a good start for the weekend. However, time to formulate a plan of action for Monday … rheumatology nurse returns from leave … wonderful. I will get that methotrexate back yet … this Leflunomide is no bloomin’ good!! I am gathering more joint damage almost as I type!!! Alright, exaggeration, but you know where I am coming from. I just worry that I might wake up tomorrow completely unable to move. Then what? Nope, not even thinking about that possibility … I am not going there!! Scared

Tomorrow will be a good day. The sun will shine. The washing machine will go on. I will not be stiff! Feel better already … and so to bed ThumpUp

Lyn x

The moral of this story is follow your own advice woman!!! See, now I'm even talking to myself Blink

Hi Lyn, it was good to meet you and Jo at the Bolton meeting. Sorry you are now wacked with fatigue, everthing always seems to come at once sometimes doesn't it. I am often telling myself off about doing too much and paying for it. I didn't come as far as you yesterday, and was shattered and achy when i got home. This fatigue is horrible, like wading through mud!!

Nice to meet you Lyn,

Bevxx

Hi Lyn

You are a wonder to behold I also felt the knees aching the hands starting to throb and grow hot. That was just reading your post.
Take your own advice give yourself a good talking too. you can swear and not insult anybody else.

THEN REST, The get the methotrexate on Monday, so don't get too well as you know they won't believe you.

Best wishes gentle Hugs

Hello Lyn

Really pleased to hear that you had such a good time over recent days, and have sadly paid the price which really was unavoidable. Its really hard as you don t want to let others down, especially when it things you want to do - not easy for one minute.

I hope it all subsides over the weekend and try to do as little as possible, don t feel guilty you deserve it ! Hope all goes well for you on Monday with the methotrexate, I agree the leflunomide is useless too Sad

Hi Everyone

Slightly better today so am taking things very easy. At least I managed to get out of bed this morning and put the washing machine on! The sun was shining although it's rather dull now :(

Thank you all for your comments, it's so good to be able to come on here, write a load of drivel about how you feel and know people understand!

Bev, it was a lovely surprise to meet you on Thursday, an added bonus to an enjoyable day out! It's great to be able to put faces to names. I will come along to the Bolton meeting again Smile

LOL LOL LOL LOL

Thought I had taken some precautions by buying a substantial knee brace to take some of the strain. Seemed okay at the time ... after effects much less pleasant than anticipated! Guess I learned my lesson Sad

Oh Lyn......just been reading this and you of all people should really know better.........silly girl!!!!

Trouble is life and living just gives us things to do and sometimes we just get far too much to do in a short space of time...........We just do it hoping that we will get away with it.

Hope you are feeling even better today........good luck tomorrow with the MTX..............and last but not least..........TAKE THINGS EASY FOR A WHILE.

I am getting very concerned as to what she was doing whilst playing with her scissors??? Please don't tell me you've been offering free haircuts to everyone who rides on The Big One again. Oh Lordy - Dor, d'you think she's been near those poor , bald donkeys again?

Glad to hear you're resting after doing all that Lyn. The wigs you're creating look lovely--- but where did you get all that hair?

Well done the vacuum cleaner, wish mine would blow up as well. I spent some time gardening on Saturday it was so lovely outside and the fresh air and sense of achievement completely outweighed the pain and falling asleep at 8.00! Good luck today Lyn, hope all your dreams come true.
